The Institute works have proved, that the cause of locomotory impairment and local painful syndrome is muscular contractures.
The basic surgical method of the Institute is stage-by-stage fibrothomy, worked out by professor V.B.Ulzibat ( patent of the Russian Federation №1621901 with the priority from 24.09.87) and based on removing of local muscular contractures and painful syndrome. The method consists in dissection of the dead muscular fibers with specially designed scalpel (patent of the Russian Federation № 1560143 with the priority from 17.08.87), allowing not to make the large cut of skin.
Course of treatment includes some stages, on each of which not traumatic operation are made simultaneously on 14-16 muscles.
The analysis of the remote results of the treatment, carried out by independent doctors-experts from different cities of Russia and scientific workers of the Institute, has shown, that more than 85 % of patients have positive general clinic effect resulted in increasing of movements, developing of new movement skills and improving of available skills. In relation to one muscular contracture or a painful point efficiency of application of this method makes about 97,5 %. Besides, about 65 % of patients have noted additional effects of improvement of speech, chewing, swallowing, squint reduction, hypersalivation, visual and hearing acuity.
Long-term supervisions of patients give possibility to detect , that to get maximally rapid progress with minimum number of operations treatment is preferable to begin in children at the age of 2-5 , before development of deformation and persistent articular changes.
The Institute functions by the principle of the surgical «day hospital».
