Psychotherapy as a method of treatment has been applied from the antient times. It was applied even till our epoch for treatment of many frustrations that are now considered as functional ones.
The range of psychotherapy application is very wide and, as a matter of fact, there is no medical branch in which psychotherapy is not prescribed. There are a lot of different methods in psychotherapy. Among the most applied methods one should mention: suggestive psychotherapy, auto-training, hypnotherapy, psychoanalysis, group psychotherapy, behavioral therapy,Ericksson’s hypnosis.
Nowadays the most applied methods in our country are classical hypnotherapy, Ericksson’s hypnosis, psychoanalysis, coding. All these methods are applied in our centre.
As the method of treatment, psychotherapy is widely applied first of all for treatment of neurotic disorders: night enuresis, stutter, functional disorders of internal organs, fears of various genesis (fear to redden, fear of darkness, fear of the open and closed spaces, and also fear of taking of liquids and food, fear of infection, fear of flight by planes, fear of swimming by ship, driving by train and by car, etc.); sexual disorders of psychical origin; anorexia, mononeurosises (psychogenic blindness and dumbness, paralyses and cuts of functional character).
Good results are in treatment of depression, neurotic disorders of intestines and a stomach.
Along with it, the specified psychotherapeutic methods are applied independently or together with medicinal therapy for treatment of diseases of nervous and mental systems, for treatment of alcoholism and narcotisms.
Psychotherapy is also widely applied for treatment of the patients with internal organs diseases, when because of allergy taking of medicines is impossible.
As the basic or accompanying method of treatment, psychotherapy is applied for treatment of internal organs diseases, endocrine diseases, in obstetric – gynecologic practice, for treatment of many skin diseases, surgical interventions, vegetative disorders and other diseases.
