The patient-woman must avoid sexual contacts 2-3 days before the day of carrying out of the puncture.
The patient-woman is recommended to stop eating and drinking and also smoking and chewing gum 8 hours before the puncture.
Sanitization of the vagina that provides avoiding infection at the puncture is carried out several days before the procedure.
The patient-woman must come to the clinic with her husband on the day of the puncture. While the doctor is doing the operation, the husband is collecting sperm in the sterile container. The puncture is done under the general anesthesia. Effect of the preparations only lasts 15 minutes. No complications are usually observed. As a rule, the patient may leave the clinic in 2-4 hours after the procedure.
In case if fertilization ahs been carried out normally the patient-woman comes to the clinic once again – at that time the doctor transfers the embryos into the patient’s uterus.
